About the role

As General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and continued growth of a well-established Brisbane office. This is a genuine executive leadership opportunity where you'll influence strategy, drive commercial outcomes and support the development of a high-performing multidisciplinary team.

Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you'll oversee office operations, project delivery, financial performance, client relationships and business development while fostering a positive, accountable and collaborative culture.

This role is ideally suited to a senior Civil Engineer with urban development experience, although experienced leaders from town planning or surveying backgrounds will also be considered.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the overall performance of the Brisbane office.
  • Drive commercial performance, forecasting and financial outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Mentor, coach and develop technical and operational leaders.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of urban development and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with executive leadership across the broader organisation.
  • Maintain high technical, operational and cultural standards across the office.
Requirements for this role To be successful, you will demonstrate:
  • A senior background in Civil Engineering, with urban development experience preferred.
  • Alternatively, a senior background in Town Planning or Surveying.
  • Proven experience leading a professional services business unit, office or multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project financials and forecasting.
  • Outstanding leadership and people management capabilities.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience across urban development and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Established professional networks throughout Southeast Queensland.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary consulting environments.
