Working closely with global manufacturers, consultants, and system integrators, the business focuses on long-cycle, specification-driven projects within AV, ICT, smart buildings, automation systems, and control technologies.

About the role

This is a senior Business Category Manager responsible for driving category growth, brand performance, and project outcomes within building automation, AV, and control systems.

You will manage projects end-to-end, from design, specification, and consultant engagement through to delivery, working closely with system integrators, contractors, and project stakeholders.

The role is ideally located in Sydney, but applicants residing in QLD or VIC will be considered.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Driving category management, product strategy, and brand performance.
  • Engaging with consultants, engineers, specifiers, and integrators.
  • Leading supplier/vendor management and manufacturer relationships.
  • Supporting sales teams, account managers, and business development.
  • Delivering technical support, product training, and solution positioning.
  • Managing forecasting, inventory, and product lifecycle planning.
Requirements for this role
  • 5+ years experience in building automation, AV integration, or smart building technologies.
  • Background in technical sales, product management, category management, or solutions engineering.
  • Technical knowledge of AV systems, automation systems, control systems, or IoT/smart building platforms
  • Commercial skills across forecasting, inventory management, and business planning.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
