Through my volunteer work, I have participated in mark and recapture surveys, revegetation, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects, and community education programs to raise awareness of sustainable conservation activities. My previous career experience has had a strong customer service focus improving my ability to communicate with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Learning plant and animal physiology and individual, population, community, and ecosystem levels in Biology and Ecology. Undertaking field and laboratory work using different sampling and measurement techniques in Ecology. Collecting data for Wildlife Conservation to understand practical wildlife management. Using ArcGIS to collect, edit, manage, and analyse spatial and non-spatial data in learning Geographical Information Systems. Understanding the role of fire in regulating vegetation and plant/animal habitats in Fire Ecology and Management, including ways land use and climate influence fire regimes, terrestrial ecosystems, and carbon cycling. Learning conservation value and management of plants and plant communities to prepare vegetation management plans. In February 2019, I was competitively awarded a place with the New Colombo Plan Scholarship Program and travelled to Way Kambas National Park in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia.
