Describe the roles you are interested in

I am interested in Quantity Surveyor as a professional to provide several services to optimise the cost and budget of projects while estimating the project throughout its lifecycle and in different phases.

What are your talents/strengths

My primary strength is my ability to understand and solve problems by integrating academic knowledge and collaboration, and I am keen to absorb innovative solutions and apply them in an efficient way. For example, during my internship at Zeke Consulting Group in Melbourne, by acquiring the unique approach of measurement and analysis, I was able to understand, manage and schedule the type and quantity of steel reinforcement required in a variety of construction projects. Additionally, my academic experience has served me well in developing my emphasis on effective communication and collaboration with others to meet the scope of work and achieve shared goals.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy joining certain on-campus clubs and associations in my spare time, such as 'coffee appreciation' and 'FOCUS bible study' to communicate with others from different backgrounds. I'm also interested in working out and outdoor sports, especially basketball outside of work to entertain and fit.

What did you enjoy about the subjects you studied?

The Construction Management Program is valuable to me due to the diverse concepts, techniques and practical skills I acquire in distinct aspects, such as advanced cost management which allows me to understand and apply feasibility analysis and benchmark into a real project as the method to evaluate and management cost of a project. And Project Management provides me with the opportunity to draft a complete Project Management Plan in a team, not only to deepen my understanding of the overall process of managing a construction project but also to have a sense of the factors that need to be considered in the project. In addition, these subjects allow me to improve my ability to effectively collaborate and efficiently communicate with others which I believe is essential as a professional in the construction industry.
