General Manager – Lighting & Renewables Gold Coast, QLD Drive Growth | Civil & Infrastructure Projects | Leadership Role
About the company This established Australian lighting manufacturer designs and delivers
mission-critical solar and battery-powered lighting systems used in infrastructure, civil, and commercial projects nationwide.
Operating multiple well-known lighting brands, the business produces both
renewable and decorative lighting products—from solar street and area lighting to festoon and event lighting solutions. With strong technical capability and local manufacturing, the business is positioned for significant expansion.
The company is now seeking an experienced
General Manager to lead strategy, operations, and business development from the
Gold Coast.
About the role This role will drive the business from a
$8M turnover to $16M within the next
2–3 years by targeting the
civil infrastructure and contractor markets and expanding existing distribution networks.
You’ll lead the commercial and strategic direction of the business—working closely with the existing sales and production teams to identify new opportunities, develop new products, and improve operational performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone ready to build a high-performing, scalable business while maintaining a focus on innovation, profitability, and growth.
Requirements for this role - Lead business strategy, operations, and commercial growth.
- Expand into infrastructure and civil contracting sectors.
- Build partnerships with civil contractors, wholesalers, designers, and councils.
- Drive the launch and commercialisation of new lighting products.
- Manage budgets, P&L, and resource allocation.
- Coach and mentor an established sales team to reach new markets.
- Foster a performance-driven and collaborative culture.
The Person - Proven General Manager or senior divisional leader in lighting, renewables, or manufacturing.
- Experience leading a business with turnover between $10M and $40M.
- Commercially astute with a strong track record in strategic growth.
- Knowledge of solar, battery, or electrical product systems.
- Confident working across civil infrastructure and government projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hands-on leadership style with a strategic mindset.
