I'm interested in entry-level roles across the civil engineering spectrum, particularly those that allow me to be involved in planning, design, and construction delivery. I'm open to working in areas such as roads and highways, land development, structural works, or civil infrastructure upgrades. I’m especially keen on roles that provide a balance of office-based tasks, like technical documentation, design reviews or procurement, and site-based exposure, where I can understand how design translates into real-world construction. Ultimately, I’m looking for a role where I can grow under the guidance of experienced professionals, contribute to multidisciplinary teams, and build a strong foundation towards becoming a Chartered Engineer in Australia.
One of my key strengths is teamwork: Being able to collaborate effectively with others to achieve shared goals. For instance, during my internship at AlphaQ Multibuild, I worked closely with the project manager, site coordinator, and procurement officer to support the timely delivery of materials. My role involved liaising between departments, preparing documentation, and keeping track of responses from suppliers. I made sure everyone had the information they needed by sharing updates regularly and flagging any delays early. This helped the team stay aligned and maintain project momentum. Similarly, in my role as a supervisor at Roll’d, I coordinated a diverse team during peak service hours, ensuring smooth shift handovers and solving issues on the floor quickly. These experiences taught me how to support others, listen actively, and contribute to a positive team dynamic, even in high-pressure situations.
Outside of work, I like to keep myself engaged with the industry by following civil engineering news and infrastructure developments, both in Australia and globally. I also enjoy refining my technical skills, whether that’s through short courses, online training, or practicing software like Civil 3D. On a more personal note, I like to unwind by listening to music, enjoying a good cup of coffee or matcha, and spending quiet time to recharge. I find this balance helps me stay both motivated and focused in my professional life.
What I enjoyed most was how the subjects combined technical knowledge with real-world context. Courses like structural design, transport engineering, and construction management weren’t just theoretical, they were supported by team-based projects that reflected how work is done in the industry. I particularly valued the collaborative aspect, where we had to coordinate roles, apply standards, and justify our design decisions as a group. One of the highlights was a site visit organised through Uni, which helped me see how everything ties together, from classroom learning to construction execution. It gave me a better understanding of onsite challenges, safety considerations, and the importance of communication between engineers, trades, and project managers.
